Wow—what a connection. I hadn’t thought of that either, but you’re right: it gives a whole new texture to that moment. We get "dust" on us from all sorts of places and influences. And the apostles, after being covered with the dust of their Jesus, were now being empowered to recognize different "dust." I love that!
Thank you for that insight. I’ll be sitting with it for a while.
I’ve been walking in the dust of Jesus for a longtime. But I’ve noticed because of walking with you on these daily posts and participating in the Spiritual Formation course my feet are covered in even more dust.
I am washing your feet through my prayers. Thank you, Rabbi Gene, for faithfully leading us to follow Jesus well.
What a joy to imagine your feet covered in the dust of the Rabbi—evidence of walking closely and intentionally with Him. I’m deeply grateful If anything I’ve offered has helped stir up more of that sacred dust.
And your image of washing my feet through prayer? That undoes me a little! Thank you. In Spain, on the Camino, they say, "Buen Camino" -- have a good way. We are truly fellow pilgrims on this narrow but beautiful way. Buen Camino!
Puts a whole new spin on Jesus telling the disciples to shake the dust off their feet in the cities that rejected the message!
