Six Relevant Questions and Potential Actions:
Contemplation: read Paul’s words in Romans 11. (The entire chapter is worth reading, but focus especially on these two verses, verse 2 and vers 29.). Read them several times. Let them marinate.
What are you noticing and learning? What is making you curious?
Try to identify the sources of your thoughts about Israel: Does the gospel or your politics shape your thoughts the most? Does the gospel or your ethnicity shape your thoughts the most? Does the gospel or your age shape your thoughts the most?
When you hear the church speaking of Israel, does it match Paul’s words?
If you are a follower of Christ (Christian), as you read these words, what adjustments need to be made in your own thinking about Israel?
Prayer: will you pray against antisemitism?
Church: will you organize your church to pray against antisemitism?
Words: Will you speak up on behalf of Israel?
Non-violence: When you speak up, will you use non-violent words?
Formation: are you willing to be formed into the likeness of Christ so that you stand up for Jewish people and against antisemitism?
