The Trailhead podcast today is an invitation to give thanks for the character of God, revealed by God Himself in God’s own words. You can find more about the character of God by heading over to Compass: A Spiritual Formation Newsletter, my Substack newsletter and selecting the post for Wednesday, Nov. 20, titled: Eucharist-O: Giving Thanks for the Character of God.
The contemplative practice that I playfully call Eucharist-O for today has a simple rhythm:
A centering word from A. W. Tozer
A centering word from scripture.
A prompt to be still for a few minutes to take in all your soul is processing at a deep level.
Thank you for listening to The Trailhead. If you listen to this podcast, you likely have a hunger for a deeper connection with Jesus. The Eucharist-O for Wednesday, November 20, 2024
First: A Centering Word
What to do: read A. W. Tozer’s words three or four times. Pause and breath between each reading. What is your “mental image” of God? Where does it come from? Are you willing to adjust it to what God reveals of Himself in scripture?
Next: A Centering Word from Scripture
What to do: Read the scripture words three or four times. Pay attention to what is stirring inside of you. What are you seeing? What are you believing? What are you doubting? What are you feeling? What questions are being raised?
Next: Be Still
What to do: Before returning to your full day, sit in stillness for a few moments. How are you being drawn to give thanks to God for who God is in His essence? As you join Moses in worshiping God, what act of worship are you offering to God?
