A Conversation about the challenges pastors face in experiencing God’s love while doing ministry: confusing identity with calling, confusing adrenaline rushes from success with loving God, and getting lost in the pursuit of metric success.
A highlight of the conversation is Mark’s description of how Jesus is fully loved by God before Jesus can do anything to earn God’s love. He will later go on and do all the things we talk about when it comes to Jesus: miracles, great sermons, great stories, confrontations with legalists, etc. But those are not the reasons Jesus is loved. He is loved before he does any of those things that make us go “Wow!” when it comes to Jesus. Getting this concept will help anchor you to the fact that you are loved by God regardless of how your ministry is going!
